Three C.N.A.’S From Santa Fe Care Center Attend National Conference!

On August 27, 2019, Henry Anderson, Marisol Ornelas, and Barbara Bills flew to Little Rock, Arkansas to attend the NAHCA (National Association of Health Care Assistants) Conference. They were selected by the NM Health Care Association as part of a group of 14 C.N.A.’s from New Mexico who were awarded a grant to attend. The C.N.A. Fest was held at The Vines Center – a beautiful camp “out in the woods.” The theme for the event was “One Voice, Millions of Connections!” The C.N.A.’s participated in various sessions that centered around C.N.A. work and empowering them. One of the highlights was the Red-Carpet Awards event on the evening of August 29th. Both Barbara and Henry were interviewed. You can see their interview on YouTube — search for “NAHCA Key to Quality Awards – Red Carpet.” Barbara writes, “We were so proud to visit with the co-founders of NAHCA – Lori Porter and Lisa Sweet. They are both amazing! I am grateful for the experience and to know that C.N.A.’s have a strong advocate – NAHCA!”

Any C.N.A. at Santa Fe Care Center who would like to join NAHCA can do so and be reimbursed for the membership fee. Just bring a receipt to James in the Business Office.
